Show and Tell Friday ~ Jewelry

I haven't been able to keep up with blogging since I started subbing full time and I missed last week's Show and Tell that Kelli hosts at her blog. So, here it is Friday again, and I have something special I want to share. I found out yesterday that my oldest cousin (my age) makes jewelry. He gave me a necklace for Christmas and an aunt I don't see often bought one from him to give me as well. I wasn't satisfied with that when I saw some of his other work, so I bought a green malachite one and another for me for my birthday from my husband!!! LOL!

(It's just over a week away, so I get it soon) :-) My cousin gave me the earrings too.

Top to bottom: multi gem stone, malachite, multi stone (earth tone colors), and my bd present: Kambaba Jasper with sterling silver beads. The picture does not show the true color of the Jasper - It's a dark grayish green with black. Gorgeous. So, I am blessed to have some special jewelry made by my cousin. I will enjoy wearing it.

Show and Tell Friday ~ Stitchery

Kelli of There is no place like Home hosts "Show and Tell Friday". I have been thinking this week about what I'd like to share. I have decided to share it here this week rather than my other blog. The reason why is because it has to do with my hobby of counted cross stitch. This piece of artwork was made and given to us for our first anniversary. I had never attempted counted cross stitch, but this gave me a desire to try. Once I did, I was hooked! I am still amazed at all the work that went into this project, and it is one that I treasure. Perhaps this is the reason I am taken with samplers.

Busy Hands ~ Happy Heart

I thought I would share some things I have been working on this past month which is why I haven't been writing more, but this blog is more to share the crafts I am doing. If you want to read more about what I am thinking ..... visit my other blog!! :-)
Here is a page from a recipe calendar I've been working on. It is complete.
These are the two scarves I've been knitting. One is not yet finished.
A page from a scrapbook I'm making for a gift. I still have journaling to do. I enjoy making things for people that I think they will like. Something made just for them. If I buy something, I like it to have a special meaning or be an item that the person really needs or wants. I'm sure you do too!

Stitching and stitching some more

Stitch, stitch, stitch! I have many projects I am working on. I am hoping to get a cross stitch project done for Christmas but it may have to wait for a birthday. I am working on 2 scarves. One, made of Lion Boucle, is done except for weaving in the ends. The other is slow going ~ it's made of Lion Incredible ribbon yarn. I have never worked with this before. I have a cross stitch project that I started many years ago of a fire fighter for my husband, I really do need to work on that again. My MIL started a stamped cross stitch Christmas tablecloth and a knit afghan for us, but she died before they were done, so those are added to my list of projects to do. I know I am not alone. There have to be others who have partially finished projects surrounding them, right?? That's not counting the scrapbooking I am and I want to do or other projects I have in mind. :-)
