Do you look for serenity? Do you have a place to go when you need quiet? Although it's been years since I've been camping, I made this card for a contest and serenity seemed just the right title for it. So... what's your favorite place to go when you need some quiet time or a place of rejuvination?

Enjoying Summer

I have been enjoying the summer - taking it easy, gardening, reading, watching, and listening to the backyard birds. One morning as I was sitting on my back porch enjoying a cup of coffee and doing my Bible reading, a song sparrow was sweetly singing in a nearby tree. The picture isn't clear, but it is exactly what I wanted. I call it "Morning Serenade".

Free Time

I am loving having some free time now that school is out.Mostly, I have been relaxing and reading. I am enjoying the series "Annie's People' by Beverly Lewis. I have even found time to do some rubber stamping and make some cards. Below are some thank you cards I made using a layout I saw at Impress Rubber stamps website.

5 days and counting....

I have had no free time in the past couple of months while I have been substitute teaching. No time to be creative at home, so I will share a bulletin board background that I made for the 1st grade classroom as we learned about the desert. Since this photo, we have added cacti and animals, but I don't have a picture of that. I had originally had a blue background on the top and a brown background at the bottom. Too boring. So, I started tearing paper, making a collage sunset. Fun, but time consuming.

Rubber Stamping - Trash to Treasure

You might be thinking, "What does a take-out box have to do with stamping?!" Well, last fall, my dh, sister-in-law, & I were out to a local "restaurant" (actually, a pizza/sandwich store that has an eat-in area) and we had left-overs so got a box to bring them home. When I saw the box, my first thought was, "That would make a great card!!!" So, I set out to recreate it, using chipboard (new to me) and some papers from The Angel Company TM. This was my result.

I was quite pleased with it. Since I hadn't shared any of my cards with you, I thought I would start with this one.
