5 days and counting....

I have had no free time in the past couple of months while I have been substitute teaching. No time to be creative at home, so I will share a bulletin board background that I made for the 1st grade classroom as we learned about the desert. Since this photo, we have added cacti and animals, but I don't have a picture of that. I had originally had a blue background on the top and a brown background at the bottom. Too boring. So, I started tearing paper, making a collage sunset. Fun, but time consuming.

Rubber Stamping - Trash to Treasure

You might be thinking, "What does a take-out box have to do with stamping?!" Well, last fall, my dh, sister-in-law, & I were out to a local "restaurant" (actually, a pizza/sandwich store that has an eat-in area) and we had left-overs so got a box to bring them home. When I saw the box, my first thought was, "That would make a great card!!!" So, I set out to recreate it, using chipboard (new to me) and some papers from The Angel Company TM. This was my result.
I was quite pleased with it. Since I hadn't shared any of my cards with you, I thought I would start with this one.

Tagged! You're It!

My friend Lori, a fellow "muser", tagged me. Since I had done this not long ago, I am rerouting you to my previous answers. Yes, that's a lazy way out!! If you are reading this, then please consider yourself tagged, too!

OK, Lori said I cheated (LOL!!), so.... here are 8 more things you never knew about me.... 1. I like pepperoni, green pepper & mushroom pizza. 2. I could eat ice cream every day, but I don't! 3. My favorite thing to do during my "me" time is read inspirational fiction with some "meat" to them. No "fluffy" romances, please! 4. I love holding babies. 5. I accepted Jesus when I was at a Pioneer Girl Camp in NY. 6. I have been to Haiti 2 times on mission trips (OK, some of you already know that....) 7. I attended 3 schools in 3rd grade, 2 schools in 5th grade and 2 schools in 7th grade. 8. I'm not a good cook - I'm very boring and afraid to just guess at measurements.

Meet Olympia SnowWoman

In 1999, Bethel, Maine was the home of the tallest snowman - Angus, King of the mountain . (Our governor was then Angus King). It was pretty amazing. This year they decided to build another snowman - ah, a snow woman! We went to see her a couple weeks ago. Isn't she amazing??! You can check out her blog here!

What does this have to do with my stamping or stitching??? Not a thing! Since I haven't been able to do any crafting lately, I wanted to share someone else's "craft". I hope you enjoy!

Firefighter Blanket

I wish I had more time to blog and craft! Last Monday after school, a few of the teachers got together and we learned to make tied fleece blankets. So simple! I made this one for my hubby. I am sure I will be making more.

An old project

This is an afghan that my mother-in-law began back in the late 1980's or early 1990's. I had picked out the colors, but she was unable to finish it before she died in 1998. She always had a few projects going (like me!) Since I haven't been able to do any crafting lately, I thought I would share this afghan that I hope to one day finish. I sewed the strips that were finished together, but that's about it. Someday...... when I am up for a challenge and make the time, I will get started on it again. I just love the colors and it looks great on my new burgandy colored couch cover I just bought. The pillows help tie in the green curtains.

thanks for visiting!
